I am a landscape painter from Carthage, Missouri and now reside in Mountain View. I was
drawn to this community not only for the rich music heritage, but the natural beauty of the
Ozark Mountains, that provide a muse for my paintings. Throughout my adult life, I’ve
mentored with artists whom I admire: Andy Thomas, Bob Tommey, Matt Smith, John
Lasater and Farley Lewis are a few.
When looking for a motif, I try to find a good composition that has four to six major shapes
or areas that draws the viewer to a focal point. I generally use the three primary colors for
my palette. Doing this helps me understand what color I’m trying to achieve. I like to
demonstrate that by using the 12 colors and their compliments, you can create distance
and shadows, making a 2-d canvas look 3 dimensional.

Directions: From the Square; Head West on Main Street (.4 mi).
