Artist’s statement-Harry Branton

I was taught art while still in elementary school by the High School Art teacher. I went on to be a Painting Major at LSU in Baton Rouge. I toured some major art museums in Europe in 1972. I worked as a draftsman for a brief time in Florida before returning to the family farm in Mississippi where I practiced painting while Farming row crops for 42 years. Having semi-retired in 2018 I now have more time for my hobbies, art and music as I am self-taught on several instruments. My wife and I moved to Mountain View in 2019 and I formed my first working studio by closing in part of our garage. I love painting the Ozark landscapes, old barns and vehicles.
